Our Story
Who We Are
Blessed are the poor Blessed are the merciful
Blessed are those who mourn Blessed are the pure in heart
Blessed are the meek Blessed are the peacemakers
Blessed are the hungry Blessed are those who are persecuted
These are the Beatitudes referenced in the Bible. If you are reading these for the first time, or experiencing one of these situations, you may wonder how in the world can this be possible? Challenges are inevitable, but the way in which we navigate through suffering can greatly vary the outcome. We have the power of choice, and with a proper perspective and applied wisdom, the results of our decisions can, not only be positive, but intentional and productive.
A person who experiences suffering is better able to comfort others in their suffering. A person has to experience being poor before one can fully sympathize with others who are poor. One cannot really know the gravity and despair felt being persecuted unless they have experienced persecution. Having a heart towards others is a good trait, until society or someone falsely takes advantage. On their own, these can be tough situations. Combined with other life-altering circumstances, they can be absolutely overwhelming.
The troubles in this world will always be here, however, as long as we have life, nobody is beyond restoration. We cannot change our life experiences but we can change how we perceive them, we can learn from them, and we can respond accordingly with purpose. I have learned this. I believe that all things can work together for good. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Gal 5:22-23)
I am not a therapist, I am not a doctor, I am not a lawyer. Even seeking the best of these professionals, I quickly realized the struggle to find someone who understands and who is genuinely able help is seemingly impossible. I was frequently misunderstood. I felt isolated and overwhelmed. I spent a lot of money with few results. As an Analyst, this does not make sense.
On a personal level, I will say I have been through more life-altering challenges than most, and I was drowning. At some point, I realized that I can no longer hope for someone to save me. The blessing? I got through them.
First-hand experience is the best teacher and my experience has taught me that I do not want anyone to go through major adversity alone. Now I am uniquely qualified to assist others to navigate through these times.
